Implantology

A dental implant is an artificial tooth root replacement, which is inserted directly into the jaw of the original location of the tooth. A bridge can be placed in a toothless jaw, thereby aesthetically and functionally restoring the teeth of the patient.

Dental Implants:
  • Are made of titanium and most often have the shape of a small screw
  • Are a fully functional alternative solution to conventional prosthetics /bridges, dentures/
  • Eliminate the need to grind the neighboring healthy teeth in order to insert the conventional prosthetic bridge
  • Prevent the thinning /atrophy/ of jawbones after missing teeth
  • Are applied to girls from the age of 17 years and to boys from the age of 18

Theoretically, the life of the implants is not limited. In practice, however, the life of the implant is affected by many factors in the long run:

  • The level and quality of oral hygiene
  • Smoking /over 10 cigarettes per day/ and
  • The presence of certain chronic or systemic diseases /eg. Diabetes mellitus/ - they reduce the probability of successful implantation.

We provide all implant procedures on the dental chair at our clinic under local anaesthesia, guaranteeing a completely painless procedure. The installation of a single implant takes approximately 30 minutes. After the surgery, the patient is released. We cooperate with our University Hospital external specialists while performing demanding dental reconstructions.
The price of an implant consists of the surgical phase /insertion of implant into the jaw/ and prosthetic phase /bespoke manufacture of the tooth for the implant/. Financial reimbursement for treatment is also influenced by the brand of implants. At our workplace, we are introducing implants from renowned domestic and Swedish manufacturers: Lasak /BioniQ/ and Nobel Biocare /Replace/.
